The Energy Analyst will be responsible for analyzing energy market trends, economic factors, and regulatory impacts to support decision-making for energy investments and policy recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy systems, market analysis, and forecasting to provide data-driven insights to help shape strategic planning for clean energy, power generation, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze trends in energy markets (renewables, fossil fuels, power generation), identifying key drivers that influence energy pricing, demand, and supply.
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Develop and maintain models to forecast energy consumption, pricing trends, and potential disruptions. Utilize statistical tools and software (e.g., Excel, Python, MATLAB) to analyze large datasets.
- Energy Policy Research: Stay up-to-date on energy regulations, government policies, and global energy initiatives that may impact market conditions. Summarize and present policy changes to the team and clients.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on energy market developments, investment opportunities, and sector performance. Communicate complex data in clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Investment Support: Assist the investment team by evaluating the financial viability of clean energy and power generation projects. Assess risks, returns, and market opportunities to guide strategic investments.
- Client Interaction: Support client engagements by providing technical expertise and insights into energy trends. Assist in preparing proposals and presentations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and business development teams to support ongoing and new projects in energy infrastructure and clean energy sectors.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in energy, economics, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or certifications in energy finance, sustainability, or a similar area is a plus.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in energy market analysis, economic research, or energy consulting. Experience in the clean energy or power generation sectors is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Python, R, MATLAB, or similar software).
- Familiarity with energy systems, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to interpret and present complex data and technical concepts to non-expert stakeholders.
